Academic year begin in August, said Shafqat Mehmood

The new academic year for schools will begin from August

Responding further to the question, he said that private schools are free to use any
textbook that is in conformity 

with the Single National Curriculum (SNC) and has a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the provincial government.

Pakistan will see the start of the SNC in the next academic year, which is due to begin in August 2021  he announced a 

day earlier.

The ministry has also apprised the concerned authorities that new academic session would start 

now in August this year due to extension 

in examination dates that are scheduled to be held May or June due to prolonged school closures.

classes from 9 to 12 will begin from January 18 as planned previously, while classes 1-8 will start 

from February 1 instead of January 25.
